What kind of amp do i need for my subwoofers???
Im looking at getting two tens for my reg. cab truck but i dont know anything about amps or what kind i need.
This is the specs:
JBL Grand Touring Series GTO1004D
10" subwoofer with dual 4-ohm voice coils
polypropylene cone with Hi-roll rubber surround
power range: 50-250 RMS watts (125 watts per coil)
1000 watts peak power
frequency response: 25-400 Hz
sensitivity: 91 dB
mounting depth: 4-9/16"
sealed box volume: 0.75 cu. ft.
ported box volume: 1.25 cu. ft.
you will want to get an amp that pushes 500 watts rms. Peak watt ratings are worthless. its just a gimick to sell the amp. Just look at the rms and go from there. if you get a new amp get a cea compliant amp that will be actual ratings. unlike non cea amps you dont know the true output. if you get an old school amp like orion,rf Punch, phoenix gold, punch 500M is a goodie, but there are many more amps that would suit your needs. that was just one ex. you can either run the amp at 4ohms, or 1ohm make sure that the amp is amp to run that low.
