Greetings
Redliners,
Wow, the Summer is almost over! I have to admit we have done
more than I expected this year and thankfully added a bunch of
high caliper members to our roster. Welcome to all the new
people.
We managed to impress almost everyone at the Woodward Dream
Cruise. Of the people I spoke to, most were very impressed with
our display, as well as the professionalism we showed. Just as I
expected, there were a lot of older "Rodders" that
were very interested in the "new fangled Hondas". So
kudos to all of us who were able to make it and pull it all off
without any fender benders or door dings considering the crowds
and beverages served... I don't know if any of you had a chance
to talk with the group of owners who had the classic muscle cars
in the back of our area, but if you didn't, you missed out. They
supplied a lot of the Hostess goodies in our tent as well as
great conversation.
Next week is yet another gathering in town, so lets see how many
members we can get since it too is a local event. I am pretty
sure we will dominate the event, so it should be a lot of fun.
For those of you who have not collected your $40.00 refund from
the Woodward event, please get with me so I can hand that off to
you. If not I will just hold on to it until our next meeting.
No new word yet on a facility for Garage Day, so for the time
being, we might be forced to hold smaller get togethers around
town. Please get on the message board and see if anyone else in
your area of town is interested. I know with all the shows we
have been going to there is stuff needed to be done to our cars
that has been put off.
As far as the team shirts, I should have some to look at soon as
I think the best way to go is to pay the extra money and get
real shirts similar to what the pit crews wear, as opposed to
T-shirts. It will cost more but will look much nicer. Like I
said though, I will try to get some samples to show you so we
can vote on the styles.
While we start to approach the end of this season I wanted to
let you know how the membership dues will be applied for next
year. After talking to the other founders we have decided to set
a deadline for dues to be March 1st of each year. This will be
for everyone who wants to remain a member. The cost for the
renewal will be $30.00 and starting next year, new members will
be asked to pay $45.00. This will help members to renew in time
or they start over. The reason being is that we have decided to
"weed out" some members that we haven't seen at our
gatherings and don't really contribute to our club, but still
get the discount on parts and have the banner on their car. This
may seem harsh, but we have voted on it and it will help plan
future events knowing who wants to continue being a Redline
Member.
If anyone has parts to order, please be patient. We are in the
process of streamlining our ordering process and should be up in
a matter of weeks. We will keep you posted on that as well.
Once again thanks to all of you who were kind enough to help out
for the events we went to and let's wind up this season with
good memories and fun times.
Speed ya later,
-Thomas |
