February 2001

Happy New Year,

So it's January and winter is half over, to the disappointment to our members in the AWD cars, I'm sure. This has been a bad one, hasn't it? I hope the rest of the winter goes without incident and lets all pray to the Sun God for an early spring. I know I am not the only one to start the season early.

Autorama will give us a sneak preview for the season. Though not everyone was chosen to show, I still think we will make an impact to the right people and lets all hope everything goes smoothly, or as smoothly as it can given the situation. We have some work ahead of us both as a club and as apart of a larger goup of people in the Great Lakes Region who wnat to get out and do more with them selves and their sport.

As all of you may know, the webmaster has changed again. Tim (NVMYSVT) has adopted the responsabilites so if you haven't already, take a moment on the message board and thank him for his help. Like Mattsi and Jedidiah before him, Tim is doing this out of the goodnes of his heart and gets very little out of it other than personal gratification and a power trip. So thank you Tim for your great help.

Membership renewal is sneaking up on us like an old woman, so please keep that in mind come March 1st. After a meeting with the few good people who showed up in December, we (as a club) have decided to change the dues to
$20.00 to renew and $40.00 to join. I know a lot of you are reserved about this, but we have developed a system to allow members to gain a few things extra and I think membership DOES have and should have it's privledges. We will speak more about this as the time nears.

On to other news:
Ahhh yes, "The Fast and the Furious". I will try to establish a link with the other clubs in Michigan to get together for a "Movie and Show" date. It sounds like Team Ballistek is geeked about it and am waiting for work from some of the others. I proposed a meeting at Southgate Star Cinimas, but it depends on the location and of course the date of release. Spring 2001 is kind of broad and at this moment there is no word on the date. I think it goes without saying that if it is released in March, we may skip the parking lot gathering, unless we change our name to "Bluefeetandtoes
Motorsport". More will follow on this as well.

With the new website "Redline2.0", we want to get a handle on member's rides. Please find a moment to take at least a front 3/4 image of your car and send it to Timmy or post it on the Gallery in the Message Board. This
will be used on the front page of the members rides to let users in to see more of your car. We think it will be pretty cool when it's all said and done, so do us all a favor and try to get it in asap.

We are still working on the club shirts. The best way to do this is to buy the shirts in bulk and then have them embroidered from another source. As I said before, our target price per shirt is still around $45 but I am asking for $50 and then I will refund the difference when we place our order.

Spring is only a few months away, so let's try and keep our cars on the road a little bit longer and I expect we will have an even better year than the last.

E-mail me if you have any questions or concerns and once again I want to thank you for helping the best sport compact club in the Great Lakes evolve in to a great force this next year.

Speed ya later,
Thomas
