March 2000

Greetings Redliners,
This is the first official newsletter for us so please bear with us until we get things going. I felt we needed to make contact with you so that we can make this transition run a little smoother. First of all I would like to thank everyone who was able to show up for our Autorama Outing, the weather was not ideal unless you were looking for cold air in your intake, but I think we all had fun anyway. I was especially impressed with the enthusiasm from the lovely ladies that came with us. I just wish I could get my wife to enjoy that kind of stuff, but if she did, than our family would have another car to build!! Now down to "bidness", look on our website and you will find an official member application that you can print out and mail to us if you want to be included. This is the formal application that will be used for our records, events and services. We need to know how to notify you because, let's face it, word of mouth is okay for a few, but as our organization grows, it will be easier to keep things in tune if we had everyone's information. We are now asking for a cash commitment to be made by you. As you may have been told upon hearing about Redline, we are asking for an initiation fee of $30.00 US (no Cananian money, yo.) for being a part of Redline Motorsport. This money will be used for club members to help out with event costs. Last year we had eight people in four cars go to the NOPI Regionals in Wisconsin, and events like that would benefit from a "helping hand" and wallet for those who wish to drive and sleep in hotels. Food for "Garage Days" will also be taken care of if everyone votes for it. This will be an annual fee and you will get more that you invest , I assure you. Please keep in mind we are aware of the commitment we are asking here, and have though hard about it. We do not think monthly "Dues" are needed, like other clubs as it is tough enough to scrape up money to buy things for our cars. For that $30.00 you will get quite a lot. Official members will be able to get parts for your car much cheaper that going through anyone else. As you may or may not know, Matt, Scott and I have started a business for the sole purpose of getting parts at or near wholesale prices. This requires quite a lot of time and money. Though once in place we will not only be able to tell you what product is good and what is junk, but also how much we can get it for and if not through us (because of our low volume Distributor status) that who would be better in price. DC Sports is an example - we can only get DC products from DC at 20% off retail, but some company that is larger and does more volume may get it cheaper for us. Now back to the fee, the small percentage we get from each sale will go back into the company account and then be used to benefit the club. It's that simple. You also get a Membership Windshield Graphic and of course information on upcoming events such as races, Garage days, Road trips an' such not to forget the ability to have other member's information at your access via website and newsletters. We are looking into Redline Polo shirts to wear at events-but nothing too cheesy, just a nice identification piece to show people who we are. Once again I would like to thank you for your participation and look forward to this season. With the exciting people like you joining us, this year is going to be a great one.
-Thomas
