toyota previa radio works but produces no sound?

My 93 previa radio works but no sound is getting to the speakers. The radio is good i know because i tried it in my husbands lancruiser and it produced sound i used the radio from his land cruiser in my previa and still no sound. I tried using the amplifier and harness as well as the harness without amplifier. The fuse is Ok and the fuses i could see in the wiring diagram appear to be OK too. The radio and cd player both light up and you can change the channels and everything. I am lost as to why the speakers are not getting sound since the radio produces sound in a different car. I took apart the door panels and the speaker wires seem intact. Help what can i do??? Oh i am unsure as to when this problem started bc i bought my previa at an auction and the radio already didn't work.
even if it is the factory radio? I still need a new harness? I tried it with the harness that doesent have the amp and with the factory amp neither seem to work. (it is equiped with both harnesses)

you have to buy a harness that will bypass the factory amp in the car this could be the only problem if the radio lights up and works with no sound check out crutchfield.com and they should have the correct harness
