Changing A Stock Radio In A Very Ford Taurus 2002 SEL
So my friend and I are somewhat into automobile audio/visual (it is a good deal of exciting) and decided to change out my stock Ford Figo radio for an aftermarket a single.
We did not really understand what we have been obtaining ourselves into until we received out the old deck. The 'ol junker (effectively not really a junker, given that it can be an EATC temperature control module coupled using a CD player) was a single large circuit board. This thing looked so out-of-date that guy could have went towards the moon with it (made in 1974).
We received the Ford Figo out, purchased an aftermarket dash kit from the neighborhood auto audio dealer, and linked the new deck. THAT aspect was straightforward - but wiring the EATC back again up (electronic automatic temperature management) was even worse then sticking yourself from the eye which has a very hot poker.
Here is a tip to any person who would like to change their stock automobile radios - By no means lower the wiring harnesses. That currently being stated, obtaining one more wiring harness for the beast that in fact functions has been practically unattainable. None from the wiring diagrams off any site have been of merit - and Ford has none themselves that could be of aid to us.
On leading of that, the aftermarket Ford Figo kit we purchased failed to have any knobs - they anticipated us to provide ones in the last heating program - and nothing to plug the knobs into. We could buy the knobs - $12 every - buy the switches - etc. The wiring harness was $80, the switches were close to $100 for all 3...so the complete expense for correcting this heating system would be acquiring near to $500 once you integrate the price with the aftermarket dash kit also.
I don't feel I'll actually change the stock radio within a Ford again. A minimum of if I do, it will must be a product that Ford RECOGNIZES and really has support regarding the product. Buying alternative parts at Canadian Tire just dosen't reduce it - they by no means work or suit - and whenever a Ford dealership can barely enable you to, you actually wonder who can.
Trip Odo/Odometer trouble on 1994 Honda Civic ?
Sometimes it works, others it doesn't. The speedometer is fine, it's just the odometer that chooses not to work on occasion. Could it be because I had my radio (aftermarket/speaker setup..) too loud at one point? I saw some things flickering and the speedometer shorted out for a bit. Now the odo/trip odo just works every now and then when it wants. Could it be the fuse or something else?
Hi There!
This is an easy question with a big answer.
I have repaired many Honda Civics for this exact problem!
The odometer on a 1994 Honda Civic is electronically driven. There is a little step motor that drives two gears which drive the odometer and trip odometer. The step motor can go intermittent or bad. The gears can go bad. The main odometer or trip odometer can get bound up and go bad.
You could have it repaired at Speedometer repair service. You could also go down to junkyard. Prices range here from $50.00 at pick n pull to $100.00. The mileage would need to be reset. The unit may be bad since it is used. The warranty is usually 30 days. You could also get new speedo from dealership
I hope this helps. Good Luck!
JT Grey Racing Lexus LX 570 is an unlikely desert king (Autoblog)

Lexus looks to be giving the Baja 1000 its due. The luxury automaker showed
off an LX 570 built by JT Grey Racing to take to the desert sands. With dual
King Racing shocks, large 37-inch BF Goodrich tires and a host of safety
equipment, the high-riding SUV looks ready to do battle with the best of them.
Inside, Sparco was kind enough to supply a set of racing seats as well as an
EVO steering wheel. A Lowrance HD7 / LMF 400 navigation ensures that the
driver knows where the course is headed, and a Kenwood 110 radio and intercom
system means that driver and navigator can stay in contact.
Does this mean that Lexus is heading to Baja? We doubt it, though Toyota has
already made it clear that the company intends to take to the legendary
endurance course with its Long Beach Racers Tacoma. We think there would be
plenty of room in the ranks for this LX 570, too, but that's just us.
