Help! Receiver/Speaker Compatibility?
I am assembling my stereo at my college apartment and I'm trying to not spend too much money. I have already bought an Insignia 200W stereo receiver. It puts out 100w per channel, 40Hz-20,000Hz. Now I am shopping for speakers. I found this pair on Amazon:

...but I am not sure if they will work with my receiver.
If you look at the specs it says the speakers require 150w, however my receiver only puts out 100 watts per channel, so will these speakers produce sound when paired with my receiver?
If not, what should i look for?
Also, any other suggestions for speakers in this price range that would work well with my receiver?
There should be no problem with the speaker you have selected. The rating on the speaker is the max power it can handle same thing with the receiver. I would recommend you demo any speakers prior to a purchase. Listen to the speaker with your own source of material and only listen to one song on each speakers. Let your own ears be the judge. original (and still functional) "Tone" adjustment knobs. I never quite
understood what exactly those did on a technical level, but I always liked
turning them to get the music sounding just right.
