Why Change Your HID Lights To LED For Indoor Growing
Whether you are a hobby gardener or a producer in a professional setting, you may be considering a swap from your current HID lighting system to LED’s. Both business growers and novices will be wise to do some research before making a final light decision. LED is becoming more popular as hobbyists and business growers begin to see bigger results. There are a number of reasons that growers are making the swap. Growers love the longer life span, the elimination of having to get accessories, the low heat emissions, as well as the energy conservation.
LED lights are creating some major benefits for commercial greenhouse growers. LED bulbs can be used in many ways. Some gardeners are using LED lights sporadically in conjunction with their original lighting. Bigger crops and lower costs are two of the benefits growers are seeing with LED’s. LED bulbs only use 35-50% of the power that an HID bulb system does. This can be substantial for even hobbyists.
You will discover with traditional grow lights that you have to spend a lot of energy and cash to tackle the heat that comes from your lighting. LED grow lights radiate very little heat and correctly designed fixtures come with their own cooling system. With the right fixtures, you won’t have to worry about losing crops or burning plants. You will save more money in the end by not having to worry about extra cooling expenses. LED bulbs keep your crops from not only getting burned but suffering from dehydration. This, in turn, will have you lowering water utilization. You may begin to find that your indoor garden is cheaper than keeping an outdoor garden.
You will be able to conserve energy expenses as well as decrease the carbon footprint when using LED grow lights. Many growers hear about LED systems and their efficiency. Some gardeners that shift to this type of system are seeing anywhere from 40% to 75% decrease in electricity costs. You never have to stress about wasting light with LED’s. Most HID lights are only about 35% efficient. This means you will waste power as heat. LED light is produced for gardens to use in photosynthesis. This data should help you make your selection more easily.
Whether you run a large company greenhouse or are considering indoor planting as a hobby, your choice in grow lights can make the biggest difference. LED lights give you a longer season to grow plants that normally don’t do well at certain times of year. Before you make your last decision, do more research so that you can make the best purchase. LED continues to improve and manufacturers continue to release new models of indoor systems, giving gardeners a more inexpensive way to have greater results.
If you buy a replacement bulb for your car can u take it to an autoshop to have them put it in if u can't ?
I bought a bulb for a car, I can't lift the cover of the light to install it, for some reason it won't open. So, if I take this bulb down there that I bought for ten dollars, how much will they want to just do the physical labor? OR will they want me to buy a brand new bulb through them and not let me use this one? I put the receipt somewhere to it, so I'd just rather not waste the money and use it?
It depends on the type of bulb and the shop. It's kind of the same as buying a steak from the grocery and then going to a restaraunt and asking them to cook it. If you have a regular shop that you deal with, they will frequently change them as a courtesy, so as not to lose a good customer, but if you don't you will be lucky to find one.
LEDO offers LED lighting in a bulb-like form (Gizmag Emerging Technology Magazine)
LEDs last far longer than incandescent bulbs, are much more energy-efficient,
and contain less toxic substances. Compact fluorescents give them a run for
their money in some areas, although LEDs tend to have a warmer, "nicer" light.
In the past few years, a number of companies have started marketing LED light
fixtures that screw into traditional incandescent receptacles - these have
included products from Geobulb, Switch, GE and Sharp. A new arrival, however
is the Bulled line of "bulbs" (for lack of a better word), from German
manufacturer LEDO. If nothing else, they definitely have a look of their
own... Continue Reading LEDO offers LED lighting in a bulb-like form
