how to use a apple world traveller adapter kit?

hey guys, i'm getting an imac from america and i live in the uk, i've been told about the apple world traveller kit. how does it work? do u plug the american power cable into the back of the ac plug? or do u use a usb? i'm confused.

I don't think you need one.

The World Travel Adapter Kit includes a set of six AC plugs with prongs that fit different electrical outlets around the world. For world travelers, this is the perfect kit to ensure power connectivity in most countries you may travel to. The Kit is designed to work with (and requires) the white portable power adapter that ships with iBook, MacBook, MacBook Pro, and PowerBook G4, and it also works with the iPod USB Power Adapter and iPod FireWire Power Adapter (available separately). The AC plugs included in the World Travel Adapter Kit directly support outlets in North America, Japan, China, United Kingdom, Continental Europe, Korea, Australia, and Hong Kong.

You may need a standard power converter, though. The UK power is 250 VAC (VAC = Volts, Alternating Current) at 50 Hz (Hz is short for Hertz, or cycles per second. In the US we use 110 VAC @ 60 cycles.

Check at the Apple Store if your iMac needs one. Some Apples have a little switch that, if flipped, will use the UK standard current.
