About how much horsepower does my car produce?
I have a 350 c.i SBC V8 Crate in my '68 El Camino. The upgrades are an Edelbrock Performer Intake, Holley Carburetor, and an Edelbrock Air Cleaner. The engine was made in the 1980's. Yes, it did come from Mexico. I was told I could barely get 215 HP out of it. Which is shocking because this is the same engine that powered my Dad's 10,000 pound Truck vehicle. My '68 El Camino weighs 3,500 pounds with the driver. Even if I do get 215 HP, I believe it'll still make this car scream like a monkey.
The way it sits now it should make 250 or so,give or take 20. Your dad's truck would be geared super low is the reason it has the same engine and able to move something that heavy.
